4Best Indoor Volleyball Made  Dec 06, 2007 By Patrick C. Fitzpatrick, Jr. "Big Red"
I've been playing volleyball for 30 years and coaching for 20 years. The moment I was introduced to the Tach SV5W there was no turning back. It is the best volleyball made for serious volleyball players. Until two years ago it would have been a 5-star ball but the SV-5WC (color) balls have been hit and miss. Of 12 new balls I had to return 2 due to defects. Tachikara has a great return policy but one ball, after 3 returns, never was quite right.
But it's not stopping me from ordering 12 more this season!

5Premium Leather Volleyball  Jun 28, 2006 By Vincent Lavallee "Vincent LaVallee"
I received the ball and immediately took it to our open gym volleyball sessions. It is the ball we always use now since everyone really likes it. It is soft to the touch and yet still allows for thunderous hits! In addition, the multi color ball makes it much easier to see and follow, especially when it is up in the lights.

Overall, this is a terrific ball!

4Best ball, but lifespan issues  Dec 28, 2007 By Timothy Humphry
I've played with a lot of voleyballs, and the SV-5W gold is the best one. Better than any of the Molten balls. I've played long enough to know that I like a ball that goes "ka-chung!" when I hit it, but that won't feel like a raquetball when I hold it and won't leave strawberries on my arms from passing even gentle free balls (hello, Molten pro touch). The SV-5W gold is a great, great ball that fits the bill; everyone can agree on it, even ultra-brand-conscious twenty-year-old club players.

There is one problem: I have had to buy a new one of these each of the last three years, because near the end of the indoor season, or in the beginning of the next season, panels start to come off the ball and/or bulges develop when the bladder comes out like a hernia. I don't mind because $45 a year isn't a bad cost for a great playing volleyball (I'm a one-volleyball-at-a-time guy), but keep in mind that you won't build up a supply of old SV-5W golds for club practice.

5best indoor volleyball  Dec 18, 2004 By Jim Tong
For the indoor leagues I play in, this is the de facto ball that is used in every match we play. I know that there are a few other balls that also are popular, but this one is big for city indoor leagues in northern california. Setters in particular love this ball. I think the ball used to be softer, so a little break in period may be required to soften it up.

2Defective balls  Aug 07, 2009 By Willy
I bought the ball from Amazon.com. It's really excellent ball to play with until I saw the leather start peeling on several spots within 2 months of the purchase. I contacted Tachikara to get replacement and it cost me $15 to ship it back. I just got NEW replacement 3 days ago (it took 1 month for inspection and shipping) and was doubt with the quality by looking at the assembly. I inflated the ball carefully following the instruction. I've been using for 2 days and now the ball is leaking on the valve. I don't want to spend another extra $15 to ship it back. It's really poor quality made for such a famous brand. I'm really out of luck.
