Great Beginners Package Mar 21, 2010
By D. Lawson I have two sons ages 13 and 9. The oldest has played paintball before but we have never owned our own equipment. I purchased two of these sets and they had their first outing with a friend today. I was impressed with what was received compared to the more expensive kits at Wal-Mart. The 20oz CO2 bottle is the perfect size. Their friend paid way more for his set and only had a 9oz bottle. They put around 400 shots through their guns today. They shoot great. Unfortunately, one of the guns developed an air leak. It sounded like it was coming from the barrel of the gun in the area of the hopper. Following the directions in the manual, we replaced the cup seal (the set comes with an extra cup seal and spare o-rings). The leak is gone. Being new to the world of paintball, I cannot comment on how this brand compares to another. However, for the price, you get everything you need to get started. Once you open the box, you only need to get the CO2 bottle filled to be ready to play. We got our bottles filled at a local paintball field for $4 each.

Honest Review Jun 09, 2011
By TKM So there are many reviews on this item good and bad. I will try to explain best i can about everything in this package.
First off, for the price, it should be an instant buy if you are even thinking about buying this.
What this package is for? The paintballer that wants their first gun and does not want to pay a lot. Or the parent wanting to buy their child a starter set.
The gun (Spyder Victor) - is well built and sold for a great price. It may not be the best but its not the worst. It works and will shoot when you pull the trigger. It can be upgraded as well.
The Co2 tank - is 20oz and is great.
The Hopper - is a standard gravity feed and works fine.
The Ammo belt and tubes - are just as good. The belt is comfy to wear and adjustable. Included 6 ammo tubes to place in the belt. Also a place to hold your Co2 tank.
The Mask - is not very good. small, cheaply made, hurts to wear.
All in all, it is a GREAT starter package if you wanna go out every weekend and play as a casual walk-on.
If you have a little extra money, i HIGHLY recommend a few extra things to buy along with this package.
#1 A new mask - the one it comes with is horrible. it will get you on a field. but i feel unsafe wearing it. there is a mask for $20 on amazon that is great! Paintball Xtreme Rage Xray Single Lens Anti-Fog Mask
#2 A New Barrel - the one included is ok. but it is small and not very accurate. i recommend a JT Tactical 14-Inch Rifled Barrel for $20. it is longer, more accurate and a great add on.
#3 A Compressed Air Tank - this package gives you a 20oz Co2 tank. this will work just fine. I only recommend the Air tank because it is better for the gun and over all functions better. if you want to keep the Co2 tank that come with the package you will want a cover for it. The tank get very cold as you use the Co2. IF you want to go with a Air tank i suggest the Ninja Aluminum N2 Paintball Tank - 48ci 3000psi for $50
This is a great package. Everything is great and works. With a few extra add ons it will easily give you an advantage over the people renting at the fields. With the price of this whole package, it is well worth it. It can be 60$ to rent at a field. Two trips to the field for rentals and you could have bought all of this stuff instead.
I hope this helps you out.
Thanks for reading!

Paint Ball Marker Oct 31, 2009
By M. Ortiz
"Online shopper"
I bought two of these for my son and I to play. It arrived quickly and in great shape. My son has already played multiple times with friends and loves it. I would recommend this product and company to anyone. Great value! My son has been shopping for months for a good deal to sell me on and this was it. Thanks.

Great starter gun for beginners Jan 10, 2010
By Buffalo Mom We bought this for our sons as a Christmas present. Everything came exactly as described. I did a great deal of research on the internet before purchasing this as my sons' first paint markers. I wanted them to be reliable and easy to use, yet accurate and safe also. Of course, mom and dad have to be involved enough to teach responsible care and handling.
What I did not realize is that it does NOT come with paintballs and the CO2 cartridges will have to be charged at your local store (we went to Dick's Sporting Goods) which makes sense because it isn't safe to ship charged CO2 tanks in the mail.
One other note- if you are purchasing this as a gift you should know that the box is printed with "PAINTBALL" in large red letters. Glad my kids didn't see it!

Great for the price, but not perfect Apr 01, 2010
By Britton Taylor This gun, as almost all Spyders, are great for beginners. I'd recommend as a first-buy gun, as it does not have too much room for upgrades besides the barrel and trigger. The gun is light, efficient, but often hard to maintain as some part of it fails, whether it be the safety or the bolt. If you're going to be playing maybe once or less a month on average, go ahead and buy it as it comes with all you need play, but if you're looking at 2+ trips a month- skip it.
PROS Light gun Accuracte Easy to maintain Quality CO2/Pods CO2 efficient
CONS Mask is way too tight for some, hard to adjust Gun's bolt occasionally fails Gun's design is not flashy, but fine
